Patrick Smith

Founder / Managing Director

Patrick Smith is a transformational finance, audit, and operations executive with over two decades of experience driving performance and compliance across community banking, manufacturing, retail, distribution, and consulting organizations. Currently, Patrick leads the internal audit and several risk managements functions for a Mississippi based Bank with $3B in assets, where he is responsible for strategic oversight of audits, risk governance, and board-level reporting.

Patrick previously served as VP of Process Improvement and Finance at Viking Range, where he led financial and BI operations for a large $300M highly profitable division of a Fortune 500 Company across multiple manufacturing facilities and directed ERP and data intelligence advancements. At Books-A-Million, he progressed from Director of Internal Audit to VP of Distribution Operations, managing large teams and multimillion-dollar budgets over a 10 year period.

Patrick is the founder and Managing Director of Smith Business Consulting, LLC where he provides operational, financial, and IT consulting services, specializing in both local Southeast companies and international distribution and manufacturing companies. Patrick holds a Master of Professional Accountancy and a BBA double major from Delta State University in Accounting and IT. He has also completed extensive executive education masters level training at Vanderbilt University as well as executive training through the American Banking Association. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, Six Sigma Black Belt, and holds a Risk Management Certification in Banking. Most currently, he is obtaining his Masters in Banking from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He’s known for strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, and operational execution.
